Back in 1997, a contest was held in Japan for kids to design their own Pokémon. This contest was held three times that year. These few events released the rarest Pokémon card to the world. There were a few select winners who got one of these cards and there are only six in the world. In the past 13 years since these cards were given out, only a couple have appeared for sale. They value in the tens of thousands of dollars…
About 5 months ago, one of these six appeared on eBay. The card was put up for $32,500 and it was not sold (34 offers were declined). Even though this auction has since expired, the seller placed a note on all of their items that says the seller will be away until Sept 15, 2010 and that items can still be bought. This note is meant to explain shipping delays, but the card didn’t sell… this means the card will be appearing on eBay once again in the near future. Also note that this is a well known and respected Pokémon card seller and they have been around for many years. The link to the original auction is shown below:
