Before it was released, the Playstation was an odd idea. Sure, it was a Japanese company making a game system.. but, Sony!? They were known for CD players, VCR’s, sound systems and such. People actually made fun of this for a time figuring that Sony had no chance against Sega and Nintendo. My memory is a little fuzzy, but I believe I remember a Sony rep making a comment on this issue by saying, “Video games in the future will be what movies are today.”. This small quote sent my gaming dreams to far places to say the least. In these first days of Playstation, those who had faith in the system enough to pre-order it obtained a rare demo.
This disc featured music from The The, Dag, Korn, Mother May I, and Dandelion and could play as a music CD while you waited for your PSX to arrive. But, once loaded into your new 32 bit monster, it showed you what the system could really do…
