Don’t you find that whenever you stumble upon an auction featuring rare items such as a Box Full of Factory Sealed Nintendo Games, it’s always the case of the seller finding the box in their grandparents basement? Well that’s exactly the case for the auction above. After taking a closer look at the games, there are some amazing titles. Kid Icarus, Wrecking Crew Black Box, jackel, Castlevania, Ghosts N’ Goblins, Bionic Commando, Goonies, Skate Or Die, Spy Vs Spy…. Probably the most impressive collection of titles I’ve seen in a while since most of the other sealed lot auctions are composed of crappy titles that the seller just wants to get rid of. Most of these titles were part of my childhood and most likely you share the same titles. Ahhh… the good old days. Waking up Saturday mornings and rushing in front of your living room TV to turn on the bad boy. That’s what comes to mind when I see these pictures below:
The seller seems to be adding a new description everyday; reiterating the point of finding this box in her/his grandpa’s basement. Why the heck can’t I find something like this in my grandparents basement? All I’d find are old tables and chairs, or those old LP’s full of dust. You win some, you lose some I guess, and by the looks of things the sellers winning big time. The auctions currently at $2,025.00 and I betcha there’s probably over 60 watchers, 58 of which are resellers even though there’s nothing wrong with that. I guess they’ve managed to look passed the attractive Fedco $24.87 price tag. If you somehow manage to win the auction a bit passed the current bid you could make a decent ROI if you decided to sell them separately/getting them graded. In terms of the sellers reputation they got a small bumpy road, however, sealed games are sealed games and unless the seller doesn’t ship this out to you after payment I don’t see how else this auction could go wrong if they follow protocol. Yeah that’s right, I said it, Protocol! Got a problem with that? haha
Another video game auction worth mentioning is this Boxed ClayFighter Sculptor’s Cut Version for the Nintendo 64. This is considered one of the rarest North American N64 titles out there. Why you ask? Well, those who have followed the Clayfighter series will remember ClayFighter 63 1/3 came before Sculptor’s Cut. CF 63 1/3 had problems with the release date. The game was suppose to be released in the spring of 1997; even Nintendo Power did a little review of the game during the months issue. Because of the delay and time-constraints Interplay released the game that wasn’t completely finished. Features which were promised and reviewed in Nintendo Power was never added in the game.So what happened? Interplay decided to create ClayFighter: Sculptor’s Cut which was only released at Blockbuster Video stores which meant small production numbers. This game basically was the “real” N64 version that we were all suppose to see. The game had included the missing features, and most importantly the missing characters which included Lady Library, High Five, Lockjaw Pooch, and Zappa Yow Yow Boyz.
So why is this game worth mentioning since there are already copies on eBay? Well this is the only “boxed” game you’ll find for thousands of miles which strikes gold with N64 collectors. Having the game with the box makes a difference of about $200-$300. The downfall of this auction is that it doesn’t have the manual which would have only increased the value.
Other Video Game Auctions:
Sonic the Hedgehog & Knuckles Denim Vest Jacket – This vest jacket is undoubtedly from the early 90’s. Seller says: “This RARE piece comes straight from SEGA’s California fulfillment center, circa 1994. Only removed from its bag to be photographed. This rugged jean jacket vest features “SONIC & KNUCKLES” embroidered over the left pocket, a wicked Sonic/Knuckles logo embroidered on the upper back, four pockets, and starry buttons. Celebrate Sonic’s 20th Anniversary with a ‘vintage’ denim vest you definitely will not find in stores.”
Turbo Grafx Turbo Duo Pc Engine Game Collection – there’s a mix of both Japanese and American games. So rare titles in there. If you’re interested in this auction look at the revised description as more titles were added.
Congo Bongo Complete – Seller says: “While Sega had plans to develop at least three Intellivsion titles, Congo Bongo proved to be the only game they would release for the system, and is now a high point in the search for Intellivision games.”
Gears of War 2 Press Kit Xbox 360 Lot – current price is $189 with 11hrs left.
Amazing Super Nintendo Lot – This lot has it all, the best and includes two copies of Earthbound complete which by itself has been fetching around $500. Basically almost all the rare titles are in this lot minus some. Are you ready to spend more than $3000 for 25 Super Nintendo games?
“This is an amazing rare auction for the snes. I have been collecting for years and although it’s sad to let this collection go I hope it goes to someone who can cherish it as much as I have. The auction comes with 5 consoles (1 *Brand New*), 25 complete in boxed games, 8 cartridges with boxes and 96 cartridges (Some with Manuals). I’m putting this auction up as a whole because I rather see 1 person get everything. This would be a great addition to any collection. I tried to give as much detail about all the games and systems as possible. I tried to take pictures so you could see everything. All of the boxed games and higher end cartridges have all been tested and work perfectly, lot is sold AS IS because I don’t want to deal with shipping this huge lot more than once. Shipping is free and will come with tracking so you know you’ll get everything safely and securely. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.”
