All Sorts of Video Game Merch, Banners, and Promos

After doing my searches I found a bunch of cool auctions which I’m unable to make a post theme because of the differences in each item. Just so many different Video Game Merch. First up are a couple of nice Resident Evil auctions that ebay seller straightoutofjapan has up.

Resident Evil Ring and ZippoResident Evil Ring and Zippo
The two items that caught my attention the most was the Leon Kennedy Character Zippo, and the Biohazard 5th Anniversary Ring!
Now the Skull Zippo was acquired through purchasing the Leon Kennedy Character Zippo set. You will see these sell separately sometimes because either the figure broke, or the owner only wanted the figure and not the Zippo(maybe they are not smokers?). Anyways, if you see this Biohazard 2 Zippo by itself without a Limited Edition number attached to it, it’s not from the Character Zippo set. The Limited Edition number is 827.

Biohazard

The Biohazard 5th Anniversary Ring was part of the 5th Anniversary Suitcase in which the suitcase compiled of Biohazard games, pen, dog tag, ring, and Albert Wesker’s Classified DVD. The seller says: “Up for auction today is a RARE Resident Evil / Biohazard 5th anniversary ring!Released to promote the 5th anniversary of the series in 2001!The only way to get these rings was to purchase the Biohazard 5th Anniversary boxed set in Japan in 2001!.These boxed sets were limited to 10,000 pieces, and sold out almost immediately. They are VERY HARD to find today, and are VERY EXPENSIVE to buy.The ring is quite solid, and made of metal. It has an eagle holding a giant eyeball – which is imagery from Resident Evil 2.The inside of the ring has ‘Biohazard 5th Anniversary’ stamped inside it.”

For the price of both items it’s well worth it. I’m especially having a close eye on the ring :). Check out these auctions below:

Red vs. Blue Action Figure Set Signed

HaloHalo
Halo
I thought this was pretty neat. I forgot when the whole “Red vs Blue” came out but I remember them during the Halo 2 days. Anyhow, I don’t know too much about the history of “Red Vs Blue” but this is what Wiki says:

“Red vs. Blue, often abbreviated as RvB, is a set of related comic science fiction video series created by Rooster Teeth Productions and distributed through the Internet and DVD. The story centers on two opposing teams of soldiers fighting a civil war in the middle of a desolate box canyon (Blood Gulch), in a parody of first-person shooter (FPS) games, military life, and science fiction films. Initially intended to be a short series of six to eight episodes, the project quickly and unexpectedly achieved significant popularity following its Internet premiere on April 1, 2003. The series introduced people to Halo, so Microsoft — the owner of Halo — offered to pay Rooster Teeth to continue production of Red vs. Blue; Rooster Teeth therefore decided to continue the story. The fifth and final season of the original Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicles series ended with episode 100, released on June 28, 2007. Three mini-series—Out of Mind, Recovery One, and Relocated—and the three-part Recollection Trilogy containing the full-length Reconstruction, Recreation and Revelation series (Seasons 6-8) have extended the plot. It was revealed at Comic Con 2010 that Red vs Blue would return for a ninth season.”

Anyways, if you look them up on youtube, there’s a bunch of spoofs for the Red Vs Blue characters from Halo. Personally, I have a good sense of humor. I can find almost everything funny. But for some reason I have a hard time laughing at the whole “Red vs Blue” joke clips. It’s not that funny. Maybe I get a grin here or there but I find them very dry. So why am I featuring this item then? Well, at VGA we like to show case everything from the video game realm with no short ends.

This figure set is signed by the characters of the Red vs Blue series.

Co-creators Gustavo Sorola (Simmons) and Burnie Burns (Church) placed their signature right on the package. If you like the whole “Red vs Blue”, then this is one collectors item for you 🙂

This is pretty rare in terms of PlayStation promotional items. I haven’t seen one of these for a long time since this was for the release of the first PlayStation console. I know the guys at the PlayStation Museum would love to have this in their collection.

Other Interesting Auctions:

I like the name of this Nintendo Auction
Starcraft vintage Protoss Zealot standee display – Man that’s old! “You are bidding on a vintage promotional standee of a protoss zealot for the original Starcraft. This item is over a decade old and judging by the tabs on the bottom, it presumably had a base that it inserted into, but I do not have that. There are some flaws which I have photographed. The upper left is creased, as well as the fingers, and there is a ding on the top right. The standee is double sided, but there are three rows of sticky foam/tape on the back side. You might be able to remove these with some sort of adhesive solvent, but I’m not about to try. Thanks for looking!”
