Apex Legends Cheater: MOBADOS Banned From Twitch

Apex Legends Cheater MOBADOS Banned From Twitch

Apex Legends free-to-play battle royale adventure by Respawn Entertainment has been growing steadily since its release on February 4th, 2019. Just in its first month of being released, the player count was at a staggering 25 million players. Today it stands at around 50 million players and shows no signs of declining anytime soon.

Apex Legends has fallen victim to players who cheat their way in the game. Recently, viewers of  ‘MOBADOS’ were shocked when he was caught using an aimbot LIVE on Twitch. The Twitch partner was then banned for his actions, losing rights to stream and monetize off the platform.

Who is MOBADOS?

MOBADOS is an Argentinian gamer and streamer that spends most of his time streaming Apex Legends. He occasionally plays Mobile Legends player to change things up, but his recent viewers know him as an Apex Legends player. On March 6th, 2019, MOBADOS started his Apex Legends stream and was absolutely destroying squads with his laser-like, hip-fireing headshots. Viewers of his stream would witness him clutch a 1v2 last man standing and winning the match.

After each victory, he was obviously hyped up. Shouting out and being proud of his achievements. MOBADOS was destroying other players so easily in-game, viewers were wondering what was actually happening as everyone who has played Apex Legends noticed something is off.

CAUGHT

While live on Twitch, his viewers started to notice his god-like mechanics. Or more like “Mod-like”. Once exposed, MOBADOS and his Twitch Account MOBADOStv vanished into thin air, thanks to players on the Reddit threads. They pointed out his cheating abilities and reported him instantly to Twitch.

Not only was his account banned on Twitch, but his account was terminated on YouTube, and the last tweet he made was on March 6th. This is a telling sign that if you cheat, you’ll end up like MOBADOS. Twitch and YouTube have made an example out of him, and hopefully many cheaters get the message.

Sadly, Apex Legends is seeing a lot more cheating occurring in games lately and it’s, to say the least, annoying a lot of players and devs. The increasing amount of hacking and cheating in Apex Legends is catching the attention of infamous streamers such as Dr. Disrespect, Shroud, as well as Apex Legends developers.

In a recent PC Gamer post on the topic of cheating in Apex Legends, “They’re scaling up the anti-cheat team, and also planning to add a report feature that will go directly to Easy-Anti-Cheat. Apparently, Respawn is also aware of the issue of spammers during character select and then disconnecting, and are working on a solution.

From the Top

Respawn Entertainment states,

We are working on improvements to combat cheaters and we’re going to have to be pretty secretive about our plans. Cheaters are crafty and we don’t want them to see us coming.” Luckily Respawn is planning on adding a report feature to future PC patches which should at least make a dent on the online cheating community in Apex Legends. As of Respawn’s most recent check-in using Easy-Anti-Cheat, a reported 355,000+ cheaters have been banned on PC. That being said, the war against cheaters in Apex Legends will continue.

“The service works but the fight against cheaters is an ongoing war that we’ll need to continue to adapt to and be very vigilant about fighting. We take cheating very seriously and care deeply about the health of Apex Legends for all players.” ~Respawn Entertainment

All of this being said, to all all Apex Legends gamers out there, have you encountered any cheaters amidst your climb as the last man standing? What do you think about the actions of Respawn Entertainment and their Easy-Anti-Cheat plan? We would love to hear from you.
