It looks like Respawn is kicking into gear with an array of new announcements made via the EA official blog. Apex Legends is seeing a new event called “The Legendary Hunt”. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Respawn Announce New Time-Limited Event
With E3 just around the corner, Respawn decided they were not going to wait to release updates at the event. In the new announcement via the EA blog, Respawn will be introducing a new event for Apex Legends called “The Legendary Hunt”. It’s set to be released on the 4th. This has riled up Apex fans as they took to Twitter to comment on @PlayApex’s tweet. One user said it perfectly:
This is a good comeback!

Given that Respawn has been on a rollercoaster ride with the Apex Legends community, this is the best news to come since the announcement of Season 1. Fans have been waiting for something good to come from Apex Legends, and it was only a matter of time that Respawn was going to deliver.
The game has been plagued with hackers, cheaters, poor Season release, and lack of updates/communication. Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn, stated in an interview recently that he was looking to fix that communication issue with fans and it looks like he kept his word.
What is The Legendary Hunt?
On June 4th, a new event is coming to Apex Legends called “The Legendary Hunt”. It’s a 2-week event which will deliver a bunch of goodies, specifically new Legend skins. The event will have challenges that players new to complete; which will reward them new skins. Additionally, players will be able to earn more points to earn a whole Battle Pass level; which is capped per day. Here are more details:

What is the Apex Elite Queue?
Another mention in Respawns update is that there will be an “Apex Elite Queue“. But what exactly is this new mode? Essentially, you will be able to play against the best Apex Legends players in this new mode. The mode has a one-time elimination process. So once you join the mode, you need to finish in the Top 5 to continue playing.
There will be a ‘Double XP Weekend’ which will start on June 7th at 10:00am (PST). It will last all the way through to June 10th. You can earn double XP on base/Battle pass progression. Additionally, for the Battle Pass owners only, if you finish top 5 in any match you’ll get a whole Battle Pass level as mentioned above. This is limited to once a day.
