Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has had a great reaction from fans when it was released back in October. The Call of Duty series went back to modern warfare, literally, after Treyarchs Black Ops 4. It wasn’t a secret that players wanted to go back to traditional warfare since the Black Ops 3 and 4 have become more about future combat and present combat. This gave life to the game more than anything. Of course, there are some decisions made by the Infinity Ward that players did not enjoy. For example, the SBMM issue is still in the game. Infinity Ward developers announced that this was included in the game to protect the new players. Everybody is playing against players that are at their skill level. This is affecting the game a little bit. Because good players are matching with other good players, therefore, we are not able to see amazing killstreaks like before.
But other things have recently received our attention about Call of Duty Modern Warfare. There have been many leaks about the game, sometimes too many to follow. Most notably, players saw a leak that mentioned a Battle Royale mode will be coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare months before the game was released. There is still no news on that front besides the leaks. Of course, every leak needs to be checked out with a little bit of caution because we see leaks in every game that never come to life. However, these CoD leaks came from very reliable sources. We have seen these leaks from several different data miners on Twitter but also on Reddit.
Infinity Ward’s Take On The Leaks
However, Infinity Ward, like most of the gaming companies, are unhappy with these leaks and they are stating that these leaks are just generated by people who want attention. Leaks concerning games are sometimes great publicity because players are very excited to see what might happen, and will give a particular leak a lot of attention. This last feud between the leaker TheGamingRevolution and the Infinity Ward developer Joe Cecot just shows exactly that. Infinity Ward is not happy about these leaks. The leaks suggested that there will be a complete overhaul for the game. However, after some fans pointed out there was no overhaul. The Infinity Ward Developer Joe Cecot stated that, “Overhaul was a fake statement to get attention.”
Overhaul was a fake statement to get attention. We are constantly updating the game at least once a week, sometimes twice. Season 1 incoming. Also bye 🙂

With a public response like this from Joe Cecot, it seems that there will be more shutdowns of leaks coming in the future. Although many fans were able to make up their own minds about TheGamingRevolution’s tweet, it’s still necessary for someone from Infinity Ward to shut them down as not to spread rumors. What we do know, however, is that Season 1 is coming soon.
