Chicago Huntsmen – Call Of Duty League Esports Team

Introducing The Chicago Huntsmen - Call Of Duty League Esports Team
  • Chicago Huntsmen is one of the 12 teams participating in the Call of Duty League inaugural season. Here’s everything you need to know about the Chicago Huntsmen team.

Who Are The Chicago Huntsmen?

The Chicago Huntsmen are a Call of Duty esports team competing in the Call of Duty League. The team represents the city of Chicago and is owned by NRG Esports.

NRG Esports Are The Owners

On Sept.13,2019, NRG Esports introduced Chicago as one of the 12 teams to participate in the Call of Duty League. The team would later be named Chicago Huntsmen. Another announcement was made two days after from NRG’s official twitter page. The esports organization would welcome their new co-ceo, Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez. HECZ was the owner and CEO of OpTic Gaming.

Hector and OpTic Gaming made headlines when the team’s parent company, Infinite Esports, was acquired by Immortals Gaming. This meant that Hector wouldn’t be part of the team he created and that OpTic Gaming fans grew to love would not be the same team. The roster would break up, leaving two of the newest OG members Dashy and TJHaly to stay with the team for the new Call of Duty League. When HECZ joined NRG, he made a final goodbye video.

The Final Good-bye:

During his time with OpTic Gaming, he built the team to be one of the greatest Call of Duty teams in history. Now Hector Rodriguez will be looking to repeat the same success with the Chicago Huntsmen.

Chicago Huntsmen Roster

The new 5-man Chicago Huntsmen (C.H) roster consists of professional Call of duty players from the old Call of Duty World League:

  • Seth Abner – SCUMP
  • Matthew Piper – FormaL
  • Alec Sanderson – ARCITYS
  • Dylan Hannon – ENVOY
  • Peirce Hillman – GUNLESS

Seth Abner (Scump) is the only member of OpTic Gaming to move onto Hector’s new Call of Duty Team, the Chicago Huntsmen. Scump has been one of the faces of OpTic Gaming’s glory days, earning his nickname as “The King”. Joining Scump is an old teammate, Matthew Piper (FormaL). Both played together on OG and won the 2017 Infinite Warfare Call of Duty Championship. FormaL comes from Luminosity Gaming, one of the traditional Call of Duty organizations from the old league that ended up not competing in the new CDL. He won CWL Fort Worth last season and had an exceptional season. FormaL also played with Peirce Hillman (GUNLESS) on Luminosity Gaming when he won the CWL title.

GUNLESS ended up moving away from Luminosity during the later part of the CWL season due to the team’s poor performance on the playing field. Alec Sanderson (Arcitys) comes from eUnited, a team that ended strong in the Call of Duty World League, winning back to back titles in the CWL Finals and CWL Championship. The last member is Dylan Hannon (Envoy). He had a solid rookie season, beating the very hot OpTic Gaming in the league’s first game of the season. Envoy later switched teams to play for Gen.G. Although Gen.G didn’t have the success they were looking for, Envoy was able to continue building a name for himself in the league, being one of the hottest acquisitions for Chicago Huntsmen.

The new C.H roster is filled with experienced players who have played in CoD competitive for a long time, with the exception of Envoy. The Chicago Huntsment, lead by the experience of FormaL and Scump, makes this team one of the most dangerous in the league.
