Call of Duty World League

Call of Duty World League twitter page officially announced the 2019 Pool draws. The qualifiers are done in order to determine which twelve teams will compete in the 2019 CWL Pro League. The format consists of four pools, each having seven teams. The bracket play will be a round robin, which means every team will have to be on their A-game in order to be on of the top 2 teams to qualify for the 2019 CWL Pro League.

The remaining teams in each pool will play in the Playoffs (3rd, 4th and 5th teams). Sadly, for the CWL teams teams that finish 6th and 7th place in their respected pools will be eliminated. Teams that make the Playoffs will face a “Double Elimination” process where the top 4 teams in the Playoffs will qualify for the 2019 CWL Pro League. Although we’re still in the early stages, the Pools have been drawn.

Pool Play Predictions

When the pools were drawn, Twitter was pumped with tweets from fans and community members with their predictions of who will finish in the top 2 of each group. No other place was more vocal than subreddit’s r/CoDCompetitive.

One user by the name of u/EliMathison created a post asking for Pool predictions. As of this writing, user u/tmac146 has the most votes by posting his predictions.

In his predictions, he believes FaZe Clan and Team Reciprocity will take Pool A. Team Envy and G2 Esports will take Pool B. Str8 Rippin and Pittrsburgh Knights will take Pool C, finishing i off in Pool D with Evil Geniuses and Red Reserve. His prediction has received 18 upvotes as of this writing, placing him at the top of most popular comments. It seems many other community members agree with his predictions.

Tmac also added that he thinks “Sween gets in too fwiw. I just dont know what the group matchups would be in bracket play so I don’t want to say for sure. They absolutely deserve a PL spot. My wishlist would be 100T, Sween, Heretics, and Mindfreak wrapping up the spots!“. The pools look to be balanced, however, some users pointed out that Team Sween have a hard path despite doing incredibly well at the CWL Vegas Open finishing 6th place.

More information to come.
