Everything you need to know about CS:GO Danger Zone
Counter Strike: Global Offensive got a huge update today. Survival mode called Danger Zone is officially implemented in Valve’s FPS game. It should have been released two days ago, but apparently some issues occurred, so the release was delayed. However, it turned out that speculations were correct. Valve decided to follow the path of Battle Royal games. It is not only big news we received from Valve today. CS: GO is a free-to-play game now. This means that Valve wants to compete with the most popular Battle Royal games. The new CS:GO mode has its advantages over Fortnite, but PUBG is still a more attractive game. Without further ado let’s check what we got with new Danger Zone mode.
It is based on common Battle Royal principles
If you have ever played or watched any Battle Royal games, you know what is your goal in the new Danger Zone mode. For Survival mode purposes, Valve made a huge map called Blacksite. Unfortunately, we weren’t right about the map’s name. Apparently, it is not called enclave. The new map is enormously big for CS:GO standards, but compared to PUBG map it is not. It’s not such a big problem considering there are “only” 18 players on the map. Therefore, it will be strange for Battle Royal gamers to play this mode counting they used to play with many more players.
Danger Zone is essentially still old CS:GO, the physics, graphics and other stuff are the same. There are just many new features added to the game in order to make the Danger Zone looks like Battle Royal mode. For example, you cannot drive cars o build walls, but you indeed starting with nothing and your goal is to remain the last man standing. You can choose between playing solo, duo or trio. So, there are no CTs and Terrorists, just players in orange clothes with empty hands. There are about two and a half minutes for warming-up. That’s a good opportunity to explore map as best as you can. As we said in one of the previous articles, there are truly crates with ammo, supplies, and armor. Weapons could be founded either on the ground or in the crates.
You can buy weapons and follow your opponents
After a warm-up, unlike in PUBG, you choose the place where you are going to land before even getting in the plane. So, you cannot really maneuver with a parachute, because it will take you to the exact point you have chosen. The only things you get at the beginning are a tablet and your fists. Yes, you can use fists in CS. The tablet provides you with all needed information. You can see the map separated in numerous hexagons. Hexagons with players in it are yellower, so you can actually know the approx position of your enemies. That has its own good and bad sides. Also, there is a famous “Danger Zone” or red zone. This is the area bombed with rockets. Of course, it constantly moves towards the center.
There is also a new feature that others Battle Royal games don’t have. You can buy weapons with the money. Money can be founded all around the map. Players also can earn some money in several ways such as escorting hostages to rescue are, or killing a particular target, etc. You have a limited number of items and weapons you can buy. There are five different firing weapons, all kinds of grenades, supplies, and utilities. Tablets can be upgraded so money can be spent on upgrades as well. Weapons and other stuff are delivered by drones. They will deliver items to your exact position. So, that’s another way your opponent can find you or vice versa.
New cool things in Danger Zone
As mentioned, the game is essentially the same, but there are some new cool things we couldn’t imagine in CS: GO. High grass is something you couldn’t imagine in CS: GO, but it is included in a new mode. Obviously, it has been added to help the players to move around open space. The cool thing about it is that you can burn it with Molotov. Fists in CS is an unusual thing, and you can use them to disarm your opponent, which is nice. There are some interesting weapons such as an ax or wrench. Also, adrenaline is a pretty cool thing to see in CS: GO. Unfortunately, you can have only two shots of adrenaline at the moment.
Although CS: GO became a free-to-play game, there is something called Prime Status that you can pay for. There are several benefits of Prime Status over regular CS: GO owner. First of all, only gamers with Prime Status can play with other gamers with Prime Status. Also, as a Prime Status owner, you can get exclusive souvenir items, item drops, and weapon cases. The good thing is that you can earn Prime Status by reaching 21st experience level.
