FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 Champion – MoAuba

FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 Champion - MoAuba

The biggest FIFA 19 tournament has ended with a huge upset as the fifth-ranked PS4 player in the world, MoAuba, has become the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 champion. In the Grand Final, he beat the defender of title, Msdossary.

Tekkz dropped out at the Group Stage

Already in the Group Stage, we saw one huge upset. The best Xbox FIFA 19 player, and winner of seven titles, F2Tekkz dropped out as he had one point less than Megabit who ended in fourth place, which secured him a spot in the Play-offs. Tekkz lost his matches against his countryman, Tass, and Megabit who advanced instead of him. Additionally, Tekkz drew two matches, so three wins were not sufficient for perhaps the best FIFA 19 player to reach the Play-offs. This was a huge shocker and no one predicted that.

Messi of FIFA 19, as Goal.com called him, was clearly disappointed after his poor performance. Apparently, the pressure was too big for young Brittish player. Prior to the event, all eyes were looking at him thinking he is going to win the biggest trophy and prove the world he is the best FIFA player whatsoever. Nevertheless, it didn’t happen as his path ended early on in Group Stage.

From his group (Group A), besides Megabit, another three players proceeded further. Stokes who won Xbox Play-offs event topped the group, and he was followed by Tass, Dani, and Megabit. Unfortunately, there was no place for young Tekkz in this elite group.

Msdossary dominated his group, MoAuba barely advanced

Group B featured a great run by Rogue player, and FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 champion, Msdossary. The player from Saudi Arabia came to O2 Arena in London as a defending champion and his attempt to defend title started great. He just crushed the field in his group as he won all 7 matches. Msdossary showed quite a strong performance and considering that Tekkz got knocked out, he remained the biggest favorite for clinching the title.

Interestingly, he had to defeat two of his teammates from Rogue, GoalMachine, and NRaseck to top the group. Moreover, both of them joined Msdossary in Play-offs. Besides three of them, Rafsou won second place in a group, so he also advanced further. Marcus Gomes, DullenMIKE, and DaXe all failed to reach Play-offs. It was kind of surprise as they had some good showings this season.

On the other side, in Play-offs groups, we saw more upsets as many favorites ended their runs early on. Marko, Tore, and DrErhano failed to finish in Top 4 in Group C. But, FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 champion, MoAuba, and the best PS4 player, Nicolas99fc, secured their spot in Play-offs, but barely. Nicolas advanced further because he had a better goal difference than Marko, and MoAuba had just one point more than Nicolas. Alongside these two, tuga810 and Üstun advanced.

In the last PS4 group, Joksan and Chris didn’t manage to finish in Top 4. Two well-known names fell short in FIFA eWorld Cup 2019. From their group, Zezinho, Pinna97, RastaArtur, and Maestro took the first four places.

MoAuba made Grand Final after penalties

When Play-offs kicked off, everyone thought the final battle was going to be fought between Msdossary and Nicolas99fc. Indeed, this almost happened, but MoAuba had to say something about it.

The FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 champion started his path slowly and quietly in Round of 16. He defeated Pinna97 with aggregate score 3-1 and booked a meeting with Maestro from Team Vitality. The winner of FIFA eNations Cup and e-Ligue 1 Finals was a favorite in this match, but MoAuba just dismantled him (5-1). However, in Semi-final, MoAuba had an opponent on the other side who also cruised to Semis. Nicolas99fc edged out Zezinho (7-2), and Üstun (9-1) to play FIFA eWorld Cup Semi-finals.

Given that he won PS4 Global Series Play-offs, FIFA eClub World Cup, and Gfinity FIFA Series in January, Nicolas was the clear favorite to reach Grand Final. But, MoAuba was the one who had to defend the result at the end of the second leg, but Nicolas somehow scored the goal in the last minute to take things to Extra Time. As no one scored a goal in Extra Time, the game went to penalties where FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 champion had more skill and luck to upset Nicolas99fc and book a meeting with Msdossary in Grand Final.

Grand Final – MoAuba shocked Msdossary

While MoAuba was making his name in PS4 part of Bracket, Msdossary was overcoming some really tough obstacles on his way to Grand Final. He defeated Megabit (4-3), GoalMachine (8-3), and Rafsou (4-3), to play the second FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final in a row. Given that he faced MoAuba whose best result was Semi-final at FUT Champions Cup in December, Msdossary was a favorite for clinching the title.

However, MoAuba didn’t crack under pressure and won the Grand Final in a tight match (3-2) to become FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 champion, which is his first big title at the same time. He took trophy and $250,000 home. On the other side, Msdossary earned “just” $100,000.
