- Fortnite Ziplines are gone from the game. But the main question is why are the ziplines removed?
In Fortnite Chapter 2, players got a new map which was a long time coming. However, what the new map lacked was mobility. Fortnite implemented several different mobility ideas into the game. These ideas generally worked very well. However, at the beginning of Chapter 2, zip lines were taken out of the game. This was an interesting situation since they were replaced with boats for mobility. The boats didn’t work as well as we would have hoped for since you were an open target while on one. Fortnite implemented the ziplines back to make mobility easier around the map. This time there was something wrong with them, and these exploits apparently lead Fortnite developers Epic Games to remove them from the game.
Due to an issue, Ziplines have been temporarily disabled. We plan to re-enable them in our next update.
Please note that the “Use a Zipline in different matches” Challenge will be auto-completed shortly.

Why are Fortnite Ziplines removed?
This is actually very interesting because we had several issues with Ziplines in the past. However, this time they are completely out of control. In order to keep the game fun for everyone and to keep the exploits to a minumum, Epic Games decided to vault them for the time being. These were really interesting exploits, and one of them particularly had players just look up and soar towards the Zipline without an issue no matter the distance to the Zipline. This was definitely a bug in the code, and of course, Epic Games was right to vault them. However, we do not know when they can return to the game currently.
