Epic Games finally released the anticipated V9.10 patch notes which is supposed to fix certain bugs as well as add new weapons and items. Let’s take a look at what the new patch brought.
V9.10 Patch Notes For Fortnite Battle Royale
With the new V9.10 patch, Epic Games did well on their promise on tackling the common issues that players were experiencing. Although there was no map changes that players were hoping for (we can put that finally on the side), we get to see major fixes that were impacting the game. Now players can enjoy the new season 9 with this update. Let’s take a look at what was added and fixed.
Fixed Bugs in Season 9
Many players were reporting issues with the Shadow Bombs staying in their inventory when there were no charges left. Epic Games fixed this issue now removing Shadow Bombs from your inventory when you have zero left. Additionally, Shadow Bombs are consumed properly when quickly picked up and replaced during activation.
Audio issues were a major concern for players in Season 9, however, Epic Games has tweaked a lot of the sounds to provide a better user experience such as:
- Improved enemy jump sounds that weren’t noticeable at times
- Enemy in-air audio loop is quicker
- Removed glider audio for players traveling through a slipstream
- New Headshot and Shield Break sound when both actions happen at the same time
There were bug fixes for performance as well. Epic Games mentioned that they fixed the regression in level streaming performance which will improve loading times for buildings and reduce players landing on low-LOD meshes.
User Interface Changes
There were major changes to the UI. EG just made small changes such as renaming the “Return to Lobby” to “Leave Match”./ They also adjusted the damage color when taking shield damage back to the original contrast which will help players see the break. As well, “Party Leaders” who left a game and started a new one can take their entire party with them.
Hot Spots: Epic now added an increase of supply drops as well as randomly selecting locations on that map that will yield a high loot rate.
Limited Time Mode Rotation
There are three additions in the new patch that players should take note of. Here are the details:
- SNIPER SHOOTOUT DUOS: Sniper Rifles only. Downed players are eliminated instantly. May the best aim win!
- UNVAULTED SQUADS: Battle Royale gameplay with a limited set of weapons made up entirely of items that are vaulted in the standard modes.
- CLOSE ENCOUNTERS SQUADS: Close quarters combat with Shotguns & Jetpacks!
Lastly, in the V9.10 patch notes Epic Games also made major changes to the Mobile gameplay which can be found here. Hopefully, this major patch will clear up some of the issues players have been experiencing as well as improving the user’s experience.
