Fortnite Season 8 is around the corner with information surfacing here is what we know.
Even with the hot start of Apex Legends, Fortnite Battle Royale is still the most popular game on the planet. Last week, Epic Games announced that they had surpassed the 10 million live concurrent player mark, indications the game is still going strong. We are expecting big changes in the Fortnite Battle Royale Season 8. Yesterday Fortnite Twitter account, as usual, made an announcement. Fortnite Season 8 is about to be revealed and with every new season comes the best part, map changes. Here is a look of what we know and what might happen.
Fortnite fans wanted a Pirate theme and they might be getting it after all. The Season 8 announcement comes with a picture of a Pirate hook. The map will definitely see some changes and by the hints of the picture it seems there will be some very hot climate zones added. This definitely might have something to do with the Fire King.

Planes will be making their way to the vault as most of the player is happy about it. Since the announcement of planes being added in Season 7, many players voiced their concerns. The Planes included with the Winter Royale event was a disaster and even though the planes received many nerfs during Season 7, it was not enough to save them. Season 7’s Polar Peak and other high mountain areas is the reason planes were added to help with quick rotation.
Good Bye Wailing Woods?
Wailing Woods is one of the few areas around the map that has hardly even been touched. However, towards the end of Season 7, all the earthquakes starting closing in around that area specifically. It now appears that the woods are simply burning. Fortnite Season 8 will probably say goodbye to Wailing Woods.
Earthquakes and fissures have been spotted at the conclusion of Season 7. We are now expecting these fissures to carry over into Season 8. Some parts of the map might split from mainland. Like the old WoW Cataclysm days, maybe there will even be Lava underneath it.
Fortnite Battle Royale Season 8 might bring a new looting system. We can interpret this from the Twitter announcement, stating, “‘X’ Marks The Spot Treasure abound Loot that has been lost Can always be found.” This can mean that we may be able to find loot with some sort of treasure map and possibly digging.
Fortnite Season 8 begins in 4 days.
