What are the EVO Rules and Format?

EVO is an open tournament, so you don’t need to be invited to participate. There are hundreds of competitors that will attend, so organizers divide the tournament into 3 phases:

  • Qualification Pools: There are pools will consist of 8 or more people (depending on how many players attend). Each pool will be a double-elimination bracket. When two players remain, they advance to the Semifinals.
  • Semifinal Bracket: Top two players from each pool move to a double-elimination bracket, and if any of the top two players have a loss it carries over to the Semis and they fall into the Losers Bracket”. Players without a loss start in the “Winners Bracket”. Top 8 players in the semis move to the EVO finals.
  • Tournament Finals: Losses carry over to the EVO finals in which players continue playing in their brackets. Whoever stands last wins EVO 2019.

The prize money is split in percentages; 60/20/10/4/2/2/1/1 between the top 8 players in the EVO tournament. The prize pool is dependant on how many people enter the tournament.
