It’s barely been a day since Sony wrapped up its live event showcasing the Playstation 5 and some of its upcoming games. Hundreds of thousands of people gathered online to take a peek into the next generation of Playstation and what it offers. We have picked out five different games that have blown our minds at the live event.
Do you ever wonder how it would feel if you could somehow step into the shoes of a stray cat in a city full of robots? Stray lets you loose on a journey as a cat as you make your way home through a cyber city. Publisher Annapurna Interactive paired up with Blue Twelve Studio way back in 2016 and has been working at this game ever since. As the trailer only gives a glimpse of the overall tone of the game, fans are already asking for more. The team promises the game to be action-packed as well as immersive in terms of adventure.
4) Death Loop
As the name suggests, you play as Colt- a man who’s stuck in a loop of death. To free yourself of this seemingly infinite loop, you have to kill eight separate people that are responsible for this loop. Time is of the essence though as you have to finish this herculean task by midnight. The game gives you full freedom on how you approach your targets and the order of them. There is an added multiplayer aspect where you play as Julianna and can protect the loop by eliminating Colt. You can toggle this option on/off as you wish.
3) NBA 2K21
As Zion Williamson boldly said: “Y’all are not ready for this.” NBA 2K21’s graphics has definitely blown everyone’s minds. The trailer shows Zion practicing in an empty gym sweating profusely. While that is far from what the 2K21 may offer, it does show off the insane level of detail fans may expect from the title. Load speeds for the 2K21 are stated to be very swift. Crucial gameplay details are yet to be released.
2) Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Spiderman fans, it’s time to shoot webs as Miles Morales. Technically, Spider-Man: Miles Morales isn’t a brand new title. Simon Rutter from Sony stated: “I guess you could call it an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game.” However, that doesn’t stop us from being excited. Major enhancements have been made to the PS4 original game including the game engine itself. It’s developer, Insomniac Games, has also teased Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart during the event.
1) Horizon: Forbidden West
There should be little criticism on who should top this list. It’s none other than Horizon’s new sequel Forbidden West. The PS5 exclusive picks up where the previous title left off. Aloy now heads to the Pacific Coast to continue exploring new locations and unraveling history. The trailer shows us some footage of Aloy swimming underwater amongst some robo-beasts. Just like the previous title, you can also expect to witness breathtaking scenes in Forbidden West.
