China is one of the biggest gaming markets in the world. When we are talking about Chinese gamers we tend to always remember the bad things happening. Especially games without regional locks had bad experiences in the past. We have seen this with PUBG and many more and the developers had to generally region lock China. Of course, this is probably the biggest gaming market in the world today. Even if China does not develop many games today, they are rising to the challenge.

In recent years, we have seen an increasing amount of games coming out of China and we will continue to see these. Also, there is another effect of China in the gaming market. Tencent is one of the biggest gaming companies in the world. However this year things are a little bit more serious.  According to Reuters, Tencent just announced its workers should work from home because of the recent Corona Virus epidemic from China.

Tencent is one of the biggest gaming companies in the world. They have investments everywhere Riot Games, Activision, SuperCell, Epic Games and PUBG. Because of the recent epidemic centering in China Tencent is asking for employees to work from home. Of course, this is done as a precaution. In recent days we all heard about the news city of Wuhan and the province of Hebei getting quarantined by the Chinese government. According to some of our sources from Wuhan, we can confirm that the situation is anxious and stressful. Recently there are talks about closing dows big cities such as Shanghai and Beijing.

As things are escalating Tencent making this announcement made us realize how serious the situation is. The Chinese government recently announced that the Chinese New Year Holiday will be extended until February 9th. Of course, in this time of distress companies are trying to help their employees as well. Corona Virus in Wuhan is not put on a high-risk category by the WHO until this morning. However, as China is trying to build 3 new hospitals in the city we can understand how serious the situation is. The new Corona Virus outbreak in Wuhan is now officially affecting gaming.
