Legend of Zelda Table Custom Made – Hand-Painted
Some of the nicest video game items we’ve showcased on this site comes from custom made things like stained-glass panels, action figures, paintings and plush dolls. Some gamers take it to another level and create art pieces out of furniture. We’ve seen some interesting ones such as the NES Table, or the Game Boy Book shelf. Today there’s a beautiful Legend of Zelda Table (link to table here).
The artist hand-painted the artwork on the table and covered it with epoxy which gives it the nice shine and protection needed. Probably months of work was put into this Legend of Zelda Table; the asking price of $2800 US seems to incorporate all the hours of work that was required to turn this old antique table into a Legend of Zelda master piece.
I have to admit, the price is a little steep, but the art is dead on and very satisfying to look at. Here’s the complete LOZ Table details:
One of Nintendo’s greatest franchises is commemorated in this priceless coffee table.A base layer of green chalk paint was applied before the iconic images of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf were carefully and painstakingly hand painted to the surface. To celebrate three decades of gaming excellence, Link was depicted as he appeared in the original 1987 ‘Legend of Zelda’, and was then mirrored with his appearance in 2017’s ‘Breath of the Wild’.The scroll work was painted in the colors of Link’s Hylian shield, with dark wax and rustic hardware adorning the facade. The entire hand painted surface was then covered with non-toxic epoxy to give this tribute to the ‘Legend of Zelda’ the timeless sheen it deserves. Finally, a three-dimensional version of Navi, Link’s faithful guide, was added to the top for a final, fitting flourish. Seller describes putting the table together in a story
In 2017, the latest game in the ‘Legend of Zelda’ series, ‘Breath of the Wild’, was released for the Nintendo Switch to rave reviews. Zelda had reached it’s thirtieth anniversary and seemed as popular than ever. When this coffee table came into our shop, the decision to make it a piece that celebrated Nintendo’s greatest franchise was a foregone conclusion. What began with a simple vision–to recreate the famous concept art of Link peering out at mountains from the 1987 original classic, and to contrast that with updated look of Link from 2017’s ‘Breath of the Wild’–ended up becoming our most ambitious, complicated, yet most rewarding project to date. Over a period of many months, the visages of Zelda, Ganon, Link and Link again were carefully hand painted onto the table top. Whether it be choosing from what game to use an image, what color scheme for the front scroll work was most appropriate, or what hardware to add, absolutely every decision and every detail were obsessed over to ensure that the spirit of ‘Zelda’ was captured. When Navi was added to the field as a final flourish, we knew we had taken this piece as far as we possibly could. Fan art should be more than just mimicry. It should tell a story of its own, should celebrate what the series we love by making something new. We are confident that our ‘Zelda Table’ achieves that in a rare, exceptional fashion.
You can just read the passion soar out through the seller’s description. Like a great artist explaining one of their brillaint works of arts, the mind and soul put into every brush of paint.
There is a best-offer option for the Legend of Zelda Table.
Will there be any takers?
