Machinerium LP Vinyl Soundtrack – Limited to 555

Has anyone played Machinerium yet? It’s one of those point click puzzle games like King’s Quest, having a little bit of Professor Layton puzzles mixed in. It’s really something different and I personally haven’t played it yet, but watching the videos on Youtube really got me intrigued. The graphics are also visually appealing and for some reason there’s this charm to the game that really sucks you in. The one thing that I’ve noticed in the game is that there’s no dialogue or written text. Only cartoon clips are played when speaking to another robot.

The game was released last year and because of it’s success will be making it’s way to Wii’s WiiWare; exciting huh?! Yeah I know what your saying, this is old news. Well, for us less informed folks, it’s always news to us :). But thanks to **Joseph, one of our daily viewers at VGA for finding this one, we have the opportunity to purchase the original soundtrack to this game. For those who have played it might be very interested as it was only recently available.

Caution though, these are only LP’s and are being sold in limited quantities. In total there were only 555 made available at Minority Records site. I’m not sure how many are left. This number is spread out differently as some LP’s are yellow/black and signed/numbered. The first issues were signed by the composer himself, Tomas Dvorak. It’s a shame because these copies are already sold out and not listed in the store. LP’s that aren’t available in their store means they were all sold out and the listing was taken down. So if you would like to buy a copy I suggest you get your butt moving! They are very cheap and together with shipping only cost me $27! Here’s a better break down of what Minority Records have stated:

“Written, composed, mixed and produced by Tomas Dvorak for Machinarium adventure game by Amanita Design. Voice on “Nanorobot Tune” by Veronika Vlkova. Graphic art by Adolf Lachman. Cover design by Daniel Dudarec. Mastered by Matous Godik.

Master cut by Hendrik Pauler at Pauler’s Acoustics in Northeim, Germany. Album is pressed on high quality vinyl at Pallas Group GmbH, Diepholz, Germany.

Edition of 555 hand-numbered copies on clear yellow & black vinyl, 405 copies on black and 150 copies on clear yellow.
Reissued as limited edition of 245 hand-numbered copies on black vinyl.

First edition is signed by the author himself.
First edition and reissue contain three art reproductions by Adolf Lachman and features a coupon with a code to download MP3/FLAC versions of the album.”

You might be saying whats the point of buying a record if you don’t have a record player? I’m pretty certain the pawn shop at the corner of your block won’t mind selling you a record player for $5 😉 . I already made my purchase, and a couple of my friends bought some as well.

Did you buy your copy yet?

  1. Also, you might want to let them know that with your purchase you also get a code to download the whole soundtrack on MP3!!! This was such a great deal, a limited vinyl soundtrack, plus the MP3 downloads!!

  2. thanks I just bought one, the only question I have is…how do we know if we are getting a black, yellow, or hand signed edition(reprinted)? Its pretty confusing… are all 555 hand numbered at least?

  3. I agree, its is a little confusing to read the sites description explaining the availablity of the LP’s. I know that all the yellow records were sold out. You should be getting the black LP along with a code inside which allows you to download the MP3 version of the tracks. It should also be numbered since it’s limited. I am assuming the higher numbers are written on the black LP’s. I haven’t received it in the mail yet, but when I do I’ll post a comment in this post. BTW, the games amazing and really addictive. Great gameplay to go with the interesting music :).

  4. Just thought I’d update this post. I received my LP copy and got number 168 out of 245. I didn’t open the LP(keeping it sealed) but I would assume it is the black version 🙂

  5. I got mine last week also, I opened it though (I have a record player, and I love listening to soundtracks on vinyl!) It’s extremely cool, I love all the bonuses too! There a 3 artwork lithographs inside, also there is a whole seperate LP cover inside with different artwork!! Clearly there trying to show off what a masterpiece this game is in the art department!! I haven’t redeemed my MP3 soundtrack yet though (That was also in with the LP) I ordered more because of how quality this is! (And rare!)

  6. Got mine in today too. LP is the highest sound quality you can get, higher than cd, mp3 or what not, that is why they released it on LP. I’d like to buy more game soundtracks on LP.
