Today I did my best to find a few items spanning the last few decades and some may be surprised with what I came up with. Each age of gaming has it’s charm and it really shows with the auctions listed here. These aren’t listed in any kind of order, so I hope everyone enjoys the mix of titles! Game on guys…
Halo 3 Limited Character Key – Master Chief – This clean looking display was limited to 1,000. This auction, whose bidding has begun, is for number 273. The reserve has been met, but there are days left…
Legend of Zelda Cereal System Cup – Some of you may remember Nintendo’s “Cereal System” which was just Nintendo breakfast cereal lol. This cup isn’t seen very often at all. It comes from an over-looked corner of Nintendo collecting.
Super Mario Bros 2 Glass Jar – With the buzz of Nintendo during the mid-80’s in North America, Nintendo went nuts with merchandise and promo goods. This… uhh… storage jar is an example. Still, I want it lol.
Baby Murloc Figures – From BlizzCon 2007, this set of Baby Murlocs is a very different item than what has been seen since from BlizzCon. It’s a great gift for any WoW playing gamer girl… or gamer guy who likes baby Murlocs (?)
Metroid Prime Sunglasses – Connection to game content-wise, sunglasses are often the furthest away. It’s the rarity that drives the value however since these once thought of “throw aways” are often lost in time.
Donkey Kong 64 T-Shirt in a Barrel Promo – A t-shirt inside a barrel inside a plastic seal. This item has so much charm that I’ve already started watching it. I’ll be around at the end and if nobody else beats the price I have in mind, it’s gonna be mine. The only reason I’ve posted it on VGA rather than keep it for myself is that I really need to slow my spending lol.
Uncharted 2 Launch Kit – The seller explains that this is a launch kit given to employees only. The contents are exactly what you may find in most press kits. Is it actually a press kit? I haven’t found any evidence one way or the other to date.
1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die – This book is amazing. Recently, a friend of mine let me borrow their copy and I was blown away. It’s very hard to find at any book store unless you live in the UK. The book, at nearly 1000 pages, contains an article about 1001 great games. The picks in the book are masterfully chosen and it’s a great read. I’ve ordered a copy for myself because reading through it will not only bring back memories, I will also find titles I’ve never played before. I highly recommend it to everyone.
