FaZe Clan PUBG Mobile

FaZe Clan recently announced that they’ve picked up an all-thai esports roster in PUGB Mobile. The move was seen by many as an expansion of the brand in Asia as mobile gaming is massive there. PUGB is also very big in Eastern Asia, and many fans have been praising FaZe Clan for their bold move.

The roster consists of:

  • Ratchapol “BulShark” Maneerat
  • Tharit “Vintorez” Pluksang
  • Thiraphong “Maroon5” Murrasri
  • Wacharakorn “Echo” Tiengtis

All four players are from EVOS Burnout, a Thai PUBG Mobile team under the umbrella of EVOS Esports (a multi-gaming organization based in Indonesia). EVOS Burnout had some decent showings in PUBG Mobile for 2019, having their best finish in 1st place at Gameling Coronation 2019.  Prior to FaZe Clan picking up the Asian roster, the players had a temp team called Ragnar TH which lasted for a few months.

Bad Move By FaZe Clan?

Although the move by FaZe Clan would help them have a presence in the Asian PUBG Mobile market, some fans weren’t too happy about it. On Twitter, FaZe Clan was criticized for not getting into the Rocket League, with @c0ltxd say, “still no rocket league team but you pull this sh** lmao” and @DiglettHDT saying, “Y’all have a pubg mobile squad but no rocket league team smh“.

But one fan was particularly critical of FaZe Clan’s choice of roster, stating that the organization could have picked up an Indian team that’s more talented:

Despite some of the criticism, most of it involves the choice of FC going into PUBG Mobile instead of other titles. But as one user bu the name of @vSxpp stated, it’s not a bad business decision at all since the total prize pool in 2020 is $5,000,000 USD:

It will be interesting to see how the team performs under the FaZe Clan banner in 2020.
