Nintendo 64 F-1 World Grand Prix Jumpsuit from the 90’s
Here’s something you don’t see every day. A Nintendo 64 F-1 World Grand Prix Jumpsuit from the 90’s (link found here). Now I’ll be the first to admit I’ve never seen or even heard about this event.
The seller of the N64 F1 World Grand Prix Jumpsuit says that this was used to promote “F-1 World Grand Prix”. When you think about it, you have you appreciate the work that Nintendo put in back in the 90’s to promote their games.
They still do it to a degree now, but much of their promotions come in a digital form. You’ll have some events setup, but nothing like back in the day as you can see with the detail in the jumpsuit.
Selling a F-1 race suit embroidered with the Nintendo 64 logo promoting the game World Grand Prix, which was pretty popular on the platform.
It comes with two embroidered patches attached with velcro; one on the back (reading “F1 World Grand Prix Competition”) and the other on the front (with the logo of the game “F1 World Grand Prix”). On the other hand, the “Nintendo 64” logo is embroidered directly on the cloth (back, collar and both arms).
According to the label the jumpsuit itself was imported from Italy and its measurements are approximately as follows:
– Chest: 122 cm / 48 inches
– Waist: 106 cm / 42 inches
– Hips: 110 cm / 43 inches
– Inseam: 80 cm / 31 inches
– Sleeve: 60 cm / 23 inches
– Total height: 160 cm / 62 inches
The rating is based on the collector’s assessment.
There were probably several of these jumpsuits made but I can’t imagine those who wore them at the event keeping them to this day. I would imagine this is one of the very few jumpsuits left from promoting F-1 World Grand Prix.
Here’s a video of the actual game that was being promoted:
