Very Rare Sega Saturn Game – Magic Knight Rayearth
You guys are spoiled today.
Not only did I show you one of the rarest video games of all time today, but now I’m showing you one of the rarest Sega Saturn video games of all time :).
We are living in exciting times now, or should I say, today hehe.
Just so you know what Magic Knight Rayearth is, here’s a snippet from Wikipedia:
Magic Knight Rayearth (魔法騎士レイアース Majikku Naito Reiāsu) is a Japanese manga series created by Clamp. Appearing as a serial in the manga magazine Nakayoshi from the November 1993 issue to the February 1995 issue, the chapters of Magic Knight Rayearth were collected into three bound volumes by Kodansha, and published from July 1994 to March 1995. A sequel was serialized in the same manga magazine from the March 1995 issue to the April 1996 issue, and was published by Kodansha in three bound volumes from to July 1995 to April 1996. The series follows three eighth-grade girls who find themselves transported from modern-day Japan into a magical world, where they are tasked with rescuing a princess.
A number of video games have been made based on the manga. The first release for Magic Knight Rayearth was on the Sega Saturn.
I assume not many were made for North America (hence why it’s desirable) because the manga magazine was never exposed here, only to those who had prior knowledge of Magic Knight Rayearth.
Anyhow, if you’re wondering why a game like this is worth $250, here’s a short review of the game on YouTube:
