Sam & Max Hit the Road Lithograph Signed by Steve Purcell
LucasArts was one of the greatest PC Gaming companies to exist. What made them so great were the Point-and-Click Adventure games like Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones franchise. On top of the list was a game called Sam & Max. The game involves a detective team consisting of a dog and a rabbit (main characters) who tackle all the crazy crimes that happen in and around the city. Retro gamers, especially PC gamers will appreciate this Sam & Max Hit the Road Lithograph Signed by Steve Purcell (link).
Sam & Max had a variety of games. The first game was “Hit the Road” back in 1993 which is where the art from this lithograph featured here today is from. There were other games that came out, specifically from the Tell Tales Games studio which created episodic series on a variety of platforms (PC, Xbox, PS4).
With that said, fans of the series will always resort back to “Hit the Road” which was the game that out the detective duo on the map. This is why the lithograph doesn’t come cheap at a $249 price tag. The lithograph is a limited edition print out of 500.
Here’s what the seller says:
RARE RARE Sam & Max Steve Purcell Signed and Numbered (#344/500) HIT the ROAD print.
20 x 24 inches on heavy paper stock. Excellent shape. Signed bottom right by Steve Purcell.
It’s a very nice piece to frame especially if you were into Sam & Max Hit the Road in the early 90’s. The game is still up there on my best of PC Gaming list and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone snatches this limited edition lithograph soon.
