- One of the most interesting stories in gaming came yesterday as Mixer decided to shut down. The question was Ninja and Shroud and where will they go?
Streaming wars between Twitch and Mixer came to an end last night when abruptly Mixer announced that they will be shutting off the operations. Things got out of hand as streamers learned that they will have an option to continue with Facebook Gaming. However, most of them felt betrayed as this was very unexpected and no one knew about it. Of course, some of the streamers were able to put two plus two and stated that this can not be done overnight and it must have been going on for several months. Most of the gaming community was wondering about Ninja and Shroud and what will they do. Well, apparently they knew this all along.
According to Rod Breslau, Ninja and Shroud both knew that Mixer was going to shut down, after all, they were two of the biggest stars in the platform. However, when Facebook Gaming coming down they said no and asked for their full contract payment. According to Slasher Ninja walked away with $30 million and Shroud with $10 million. Of course, this cost dearly to most of the smaller streamers as they had no idea what was going on and most feel that Microsft betrayed them.
Sources: Facebook offered an insane offer at almost double for the original Mixer contracts of Ninja and Shroud but Loaded/Ninja/Shroud said no and forced Mixer to buy them out. Ninja made ~$30M from Mixer, and Shroud made ~$10M

Mixer was unable to gather a sizeable portion of the market therefore they joined with Facebook Gaming. However, not every partner on the platform was even offered a partnership at Facebook Gaming, some got it and some of them did not get it. This was one of the shocking moments as most of them apparently did not get an offer. Ninja and Shroud are free agents now and they can do as they please. According to Dr Disrespect they hit the ball out of the park, to get their whole contract payment, and now they are free agents.
