Mixer closing down was unexpected for most of us. The streaming platform did not manage to get a grip on the streaming market. However, they played big none the less. Mixer signing Ninja and Shroud was a big deal for both parties. Mixer aimed to take a chunk of Twitch’s viewers with this move and Ninja and Shroud earned a very lucrative contract from the deal. But things did not go according to the plan for both parties. Eventually, Mixer shut down and Ninja and Shroud rejected the move to Facebook Gaming. However, their contracts had a positive side for other streamers, following their contracts with Mixer other streamers asked for contracts. But there was no news regarding where will Ninja and Shroud land. Today Shroud announced his return to Twitch.
Shroud announced the news from his personal Twitter account. He is back with an exclusive contract as well. However, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Unlike Ninja, Shroud did not stream on other platforms. Ninja streamed both on Twitch and Youtube without a contract, just to test the waters. Since Mixer going down there was a lot of speculation around the two, and with this news, speculations will stop.

Ninja on the other hand is a complete unknown. Youtube streaming is growing during the pandemic, for example, Dr Disrespect chose Youtube as his current platform. Shroud’s move back to Twitch helped by talent agency Loaded. There is also a chance of Shroud going back to the pro scene, but these claims are only speculative for now. After Shroud’s return, the only question is Ninja and currently, we can see that he is testing the streaming platforms or trying to negotiate with them.
