Zelda Demos and 23k Gold Plated Pokemon Cards

Zelda Demos and 23k Gold Plated Pokemon Cards

There’s some really cool Gold Plated Pokemon Cards that are incredibly rare. Pokomon Go mobile users will want these for sure. Demos are a little tricky when it comes to measuring their value. If it’s a disc that was sent out with hundreds of thousands of a certain issue of a magazine, it’s likely not worth much. Demos used in conventions or stores to allow gamers to sample a game that isn’t out yet tend to be worth more than a bit because they were not manufactured for sale. These rare demo versions of games are highly collectible.

Zelda’s Adventure Demo (CD-I) – Here’s a demo of a rare game which would make the demo doubly rare. (Caution: Seller has no feedback)

Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass Demo (DS) – This is the North American demo card which would have likely been used at E3 or other such gaming conventions.

Zelda Minish Cap Demo (GBA) – This was a great game and a demo of it would be a worthy addition to any Zelda collection.

There’s an unrelated item I would also like to mention. This is an award given to Burger King management in 1999. Several gold plated Pokemon cards shown professionally framed under glass with a small engraved note reading, “In Recognition: The Greatest SLO Promotion in the history of Burger King Corporation”. It’s reported by the seller to be #6 of 30 in the world.

Now… I’m not sure what to think about this. Something in my gut tells me this is fake. The main reason being that I remember a long time ago that Burger King faced legal problems with a Pokemon promo which they had to recall! This would hardly be “the greatest promotion”… it’s a complete failure. If anyone knows more about these cards, please post a comment! For more detail on the item, please follow the link below:

  1. Hmmm… that’s a good question about the Pokemon cards. The seller(thethingsifind) has a good reputation of selling legit(official) video game merchandise. Many collectors know him(especially Nintendo collectors) since he always has insane(but very expensive) Nintendo stuff. But an educated guess would be that the Pokemon cards are legit. Never seen him sell anything fake before…

  2. This I know for sure Riku. VGA has featured more than few items listed by thethingsifind. If they were not fooled into putting up this item, and it is indeed as described… it’s value is far greater than the asking price. $1000 at least I would think.

  3. It is for real, I have one (8 of 30)that I acquired from a manager at Nintendo of America in Redmond, Washington. Would be interested in selling, piece is in excellent condition.
